A Research on the Effects of Food Art Therapy on Self-efficacy and Sociability of the Hearing Impaired Adolescents

Abstract
FAT(food art therapy) is a psychical therapy. It is a new therapy integrating play, education, culture, art and healing through creative art activities with food. The object of this research is to help hearing impaired adolescents develop their self-efficacy and sociability through FAT program. The object group of this FAT program is hearing impaired five adolescents in G city welfare center. FAT program is held once a week, 90 minutes per session, and 12 sessions for all. Summarization of the result of this research is as follows. First, FAT program was proven to have an effect for enhancement of adolescent's self efficacy. Namely, there were significant difference between before and after test result in the area of self-efficacy. Second, FAT program was proven to have an effect for enhancement of adolescent's sociability. Namely, there were significant difference between before and after test result in the area of sociability. Therefore, FAT program have been shown to be an effective program for hearing impaired adolescent's improvement of self-efficacy and sociability. The FAT program should increase to help improve the self-efficacy and sociability of hearing impaired adolescent in school field.
